What I love about teaching:

What I love about being these students librarian is seeing the smiles on every kid who comes to the library and how excited they are to pick out a book or two. I love being able to read books to them that I loved when I was their age.

Best teacher moment:

The best teaching moment for me was when I hear from the student that they love that I am their librarian and that they enjoy library and/or Extended Day.

Teaching philosophy:

That the library is a safe place to read at their own pace without being judged. To be kind.

What I would like to instill in my students:

Confidence in their reading skills.

My story:

Hi! My name is Bianca. I was born and raised in the East Bay Area. I have had a passion for kids since the age of 13. At the time I was attending a new church where I became a volunteer in the kids ministry. I have also volunteered as a counselor in many daily Bible camps. In 2013, I became a mother's helper where I cared for two boys under the age of 5. I will have my associate's degree in Special Ed paraeducator instructional assistant and plan on continuing my schooling to become an elementary school teacher. In 2015, I became a Children's Ministry intern at Calvary Temple Church. I did the internship for two years. In my second year of interning I was hired on to work Extended Day and have been here ever since. I am also the Librarian on campus, and I love where I am right now.

Hobbies:

Baking, crafts and spending time with family.
