What I love about teaching:

I love that I get to work with kids every day. Their joy and excitement to learn and explore the world around them is refreshing and contagious!

Best teacher moment:

I love the transition when my students start reading. They have to trust themselves and take a leap to do something they have never done before. Hearing their enthusiasm after reading something independently for the first time is like music to my ears.

Teaching philosophy:

I believe that learning should be fun and engaging. I think all students can learn and find success and should be celebrated for their strengths and uniqueness.

What I would like to instill in my students:

If I could ensure my students leave my class knowing one thing, it would be how to love others well.

My story:

I first knew I wanted to become a teacher when I was in the 5th grade. I loved everything about school and learning and I knew I wanted to help others feel the same. As a result, I was very focused on getting to where I am today and feel so incredibly blessed to be living my dream.

Hobbies:

I love going to coffee shops with my husband and playing games. We can sit for hours with a deck of cards and each other’s company. I also enjoy leading a newly-wed small group with my husband each week for our church. Although, one of my most favorite hobbies right now is watching my sweet baby boy, Paxton, learn, and grow, and play. He is a true joy!
