- What I love about teaching:
- I absolutely love teaching! Spending my days seeing children make connections, learn to process information, and have successful moments brings me so much joy!
- Best teacher moment:
- Well ,I can't pick one, but here's two that come to my mind. The first one is reading aloud chapter books to the class. Having fun voices for the different characters and watching the students crack up during parts of the story, especially when I would forget to change voices for characters. The second one is when the students in class were taking turns in a group game and one student started announcing to the rest of class his answer to a question and he sounded like an auctioneer. It was hilarious and the whole class loved it, and seeing his facial expression and his smile made my day!
- Teaching philosophy:
- I believe each child has God given gifts and talents that are evident in their personality, learning style, and approach to life. Helping them see the areas they have strengths and growing in the areas where they find roadblocks is what drives my teaching.
- What I would like to instill in my students:
- I want to guide my students in love for Jesus and others! My heart for them is to have successful moments in their days, figure out ways to work around their struggles to find victories, and find joy in the little things. Helping students see that they can do hard things and persevere is a determining factor in their life ahead.
- My story:
- I have always loved school, since I was a young girl. The learning, the new school supplies, the books, the friends, the belonging, it brings me so much joy! God has brought me to Tabernacle multiple times throughout my life, first as a daycare helper in college, then a substitute teacher, Librarian, teacher in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and now 4th grade. I'm so thankful for the times I've been here at Tabernacle, and the times I was able to be home with my three children, who are now in Upper Elementary, Junior High and High School. This school is a blessing to my family and I strive to make your child's experience in my classroom a blessing for your family as well.
- Hobbies:
- COFFEE COFFEE!, Reading books and going to bookstores, RV trips with my family, crafting and shopping at Hobby Lobby, spending time going to coffee and hanging out with my friends, volunteering with our church, and traveling (especially to New York City, can that be a hobby? If so, I'm all in!)
