- What I love about teaching:
- I love being able to help students realize how much potential they truly have - academically and athletically. If I can help them break through that little bit of doubt they have in what they can do, then I've done my job as a teacher.
- Best teacher moment:
- The best teaching moment is when a past student visits and tells me they remember a life lesson I taught them when they were in 3rd grade, and that they still use it.
- Teaching philosophy:
- It is my desire to create a stimulating educational environment where students can grow mentally, emotionally, and socially. I feel this type of atmosphere is where students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and feel confident in them.
- What I would like to instill in my students:
- Having two kids in college, I want to be able to take from my kid's experiences to help our students at BCS grow. To help them understand to be personally responsible for their academic growth.
- My story:
- Prior to being a stay at home mom, I worked as a Customer Service Rep for an alarm company. Because I volunteered a lot of my time when my kids were in preschool, an opportunity presented itself and I started as a helper in the kitchen. Two years later, I became the head cook and computer teacher.
- Hobbies:
- I am a big fit fan and exercise pretty much every day of the week. I am a member of P2P and participate on the triathlon, running, and volleyball team. I love Korean culture and watching Korean dramas and listening to Korean pop music (specifically BTS). I have a new found interest in travelling and recently took a trip S. Korea. We have plans in the near future to travel to Japan, Malta, New Zealand/Australia, and back to S. Korea. I love cooking and baking, especially foods from different cultures. During the summer, I try to cook one new dish from a different culture every Sunday.
