- What I love about teaching:
- Getting to know the kids and how happy they get when they learn and understand something new.
- Best teacher moment:
- Where do I begin? All the funny stories and funny things that the kids say and when one of my students was finally able to sound out a word for the first time.
- Teaching philosophy:
- My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks
- What I would like to instill in my students:
- Fine-motor skills, listening and obeying skills, basic needs such as; hanging their own backpacks and jackets up, setting up their snacks and lunches, and tying their shoes. Social skills and conflict resolution, the letters names and sounds, and cleaning up their own messes.
- My story:
- I am 30 years old. I grew up in a large family, I am the third oldest and the oldest girl in my immediate family. I was homeschooled until I was 13 years old and then became a Tabernacle Tiger when my mom started teaching there. I went to Clayton Valley High School before it went Charter. I worked at a few places during and after high school. My first job was at a gym in the kids care and housekeeping, I then began working at Tabernacle as a daycare assistant and then support staff during the school day. I worked for De Le Salle High School for 3 years and worked a summer with Rocco's Pizzeria for a summer before I finally became a Junior Kindergarten teacher at Tabernacle Christian School.
- Hobbies:
- Reading, painting, plants, singing, softball and watching baseball ;)
