- School:
- Tabernacle School - Concord
- Years teaching:
- 10 years
- Birthday:
- June 1
- What I love about teaching:
- I love seeing the excitement in children's eyes as they learn and discover new things and as they push themselves to do things they never thought they could do.
- Best teacher moment:
- My best teaching moment from this year was seeing students come together and spread their excitement for the project to one another. I love seeing students collaborate and stir one another on to go beyond the minimum.
- Teaching philosophy:
- I believe that every child is gifted. Children can thrive in the classroom when their individual gifts are encouraged and applied to their learning.
- What I would like to instill in my students:
- No matter what life brings your way, God is still on His throne! Nothing surprises Him, nothing is too big for Him, nothing is out of His Control. There is always Good News worth repeating. I would like all of my students to learn to be wise in our technology-filled world. To see it as an asset and a tool to help them achieve, but to remember to do so in a way that glorifies God and blesses others.
- My story:
- I have enjoyed being a part of the Tabernacle family for seven years as a 5th grade teacher, one year in 3rd grade, and now back again for my third year in the Computer lab! I am native California girl and was born and raised here in Concord. In college I moved to Virginia where I graduated from Liberty University with my B.S. in Elementary and Middle School Education. Six years ago I married my amazing "Hubby," Steven. We have grown our family and had Everett, who is now thrilled to be in preschool and Nora who is already one.
- Hobbies:
- Together we love traveling near or far, eating delicious foods, and finding new projects around the house. We especially love taking our trailer out to the redwoods to relax and explore with our Bernese Mountain Dog, Larkin.
