What I love about teaching:

Being a teacher I feel so blessed because there are many things I love about my job. However, there are two I value most. The first, is the relationships In get to build with the student and often the parents as well. The second, is having the privilege of watching their minds grow and expand each day! I love when I am teaching and I get to see the light bulb switch on in their eyes when they have learned something they never knew before. Or the sense of accomplishment that is beaming on their faces when they have discovered they could do something they didn't know they could actually do.

Best teacher moment:

When parents and students share with me that something I did or taught them left an impact on their heart/life.

Teaching philosophy:

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." - Gandhi

What I would like to instill in my students:

Never lose faith in the Lord or yourself. Success requires hard work. Never stop learning. Respect and love for others goes a long way. The words you say, do matter.

My story:

I started in Higher Education, and after almost 6 years I transitioned over to Human Resource/Business management. While on that career path I became a mother of 2 and quickly realized that I no longer enjoyed managing adults. Having my 2 children made me realize how much I loved working and being around children. That's when I decided to not go back to that career and pursue a long time interest and passion of teaching. I have been so incredibly blessed along the way to have had exposure to children ages ranging T-K to 12th grade, public and private education, and special needs students (autistic, deaf/hard of hearing) Even though as a teacher, I am teaching the lessons- It's the things the students teach me each day that fill my heart with so much joy, love, and renewed passion in what I have chosen to do.

Hobbies:

Spending time with my 2 kids & husband going on vacations, playing at the park, snuggling on the couch watching movies, and doing puzzles are cherished moments. I very much enjoy going country line-dancing, listening to music, eating good food, and entertaining family & friends. I am a baking enthusiast; always looking for the next recipe I can challenge myself with. I love being outdoors, hiking, playing soccer, playing in snow, lakes, and fresh mountain air. But by far my favorite thing to do when the opportunity presents itself is taking a mid-day nap snuggled up with my kids.
