- Years teaching:
- 13 years

- What I love about teaching:
- I get to share the joy of music and all of the ways we can appreciate it. We get to praise God as we learn. How awesome is that?
- Best teacher moment:
- My first year teaching, a parent wrote and framed a poem for me thanking me for my love and patience in teaching her child who has ADHD. (Heart: completely melted)
- Teaching philosophy:
- Be flexible!
- What I would like to instill in my students:
- I don't expect you to leave my class prepared to pick up any instrument and play in a symphony or concert, but I do want you to have an appreciation for all things music related.
- My story:
- I grew up just outside Green Bay, Wisconsin. My husband and I met in Springfield, Missouri at Evangel University. We've been married 26 years and have four kids (three girls and one boy). I started playing piano when I was five. I enjoyed choir in junior high and high school. As a freshman, I took voice lessons and it was then that I knew I would study voice in college. I earned a bachelors of music in K-12 education degree. I've taught in both public and private schools. I love sharing music and doing something that I find fun and inspiring.
- Hobbies:
- I enjoy crafting/making things from nothing. Hobby Lobby is one of my favorite stores. I make jewelry, seasonal decorations, and anything else that strikes my fancy. Also, I play piano and have done so since I was 5. I read music and play by ear.
