- What I love about teaching:
- I love so much about teaching it’s hard to narrow it down. I love the lasting relationships I get to form with the kids I teach. I love watching them grow and learn and figure out who they are. My students truly inspire me everyday to be the best that I can be.
- Best teacher moment:
- My first year teaching Elementary I got very down on myself and felt like I was failing my students. A particular student who I felt like I couldn’t reach handed me a hand written note one day. It said how much he loved me and appreciated me and that he was so glad I was his teacher. In that moment I realized that what I do truly matters and that I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing.
- Teaching philosophy:
- Kindness and understanding is key. I instill in my students the power to love one another and to always try no matter how hard it seems. I also remind them daily that it’s okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them. Mistakes help is to grow and learn.
- What I would like to instill in my students:
- The power to trust and believe in themselves. The beautiful power of kindness and love. I want them to know that they matter and who they are is so important. I want them to know that they are loved and cared for no matter what.
- My story:
- I was born and raised in Washington State. I graduated from Washington State University with my Bachelors in Elementary Education. I lived in Southern California for 12 years before I moved here to Northern California. I have one older brother who is married and has 3 beautiful children that go to the same school I teach at. I have always had a passion and heart for teaching children. I am so blessed to be where I am doing what I love.
- Hobbies:
- Watching Movies, Baking, Singing, Decorating, and Hanging out with Family.
