What I love about teaching:

The joy of knowing I had a small part in helping students become the person God meant for them to become.

Best teacher moment:

Seeing that moment when they get it. Traveling to Washington DC each year with 8th grade class.

Teaching philosophy:

The only way to understanding is through hard work.

What I would like to instill in my students:

A love of their God, a drive to work hard, and a determination not to give up whatever the challenge.

My story:

Grew up in a small town in Nevada. Parents taught me a love of family and a strong work ethic. Was a good athlete, played baseball and basketball in high school. Became passionate about baseball early. The Lord used baseball to lead me to Him. Began college at a junior college in Arizona but did not make the baseball team. A friend from my home town was attending a college in southern California heard I was not playing and convinced me to attend his school. The school was a small christian college. I accepted the Lord shortly after arriving on campus. Was able to play 4 years of baseball (plus a little soccer) at the school. Felt a leading to become a teacher and coach. Moved to Concord to take a job at Berean Christian High School in 1978. Left Berean in 1980 then came to Tabernacle the fall of 1980. I have been here ever since.

Hobbies:

Strat-o-Matic baseball game. Coaching baseball. Golf. Being a grandparent.
